Brake set Wear

Not the most quantifiable question but how long does a spring of the brake set usually last? How frequently are brake sets replaced? My decade old aluminum dual pivot brakes(Shimano Tiagra STI Dual Control levers) are starting to wear and rust in some locations but the spring seems good still. Thanks!

Should last for decades and decades, unless rust eats through them

I've worked on bikes 30 years old whose caliper springs were still good.

I have some Deltas on my Merckx made early 90s...25 years or use and work like new. Unless they rust away or the innards get rusty, like a long time.

The spring can be reset. Just take it off and rebend it.
