2012 Giro on TV?
Universal Sports has the 3-year contract that ends this year. Comcast bought NBC Universal and dropped Universal Sports from its channel line up on December 31 as noted repeatedly in this thread:
http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Channel.../894497/page/3 Time's a wasting for Comcast to negotiate to put the channel back in their line-up (not to mention selling it to other cable systems) if we're going to see the Giro in DVRable form. If any of you have any updates, please post them. When I get home each evening I would not greatly enjoy searching for YouTube clips of the day's finish. |

I was pretty bummed to see that the Giro isn't being shown on universal sports this year. I'm glad that they're showing the classics. Truth be told, i'd rather watch those. I don't have time to keep up with 21 days of racing.

I don't think they planned on carrying it anyway. I could be wrong though. Maybe if you paid for the subscription you could get it. Watch it live on Rai (Italian tv). I know our uverse at&t cable has it as an option. I will upgrade mu cable packags for the race then dump it once the Giro is over.

I paid Universal $29 to get everything up to and including the Giro.
It works for me since I can watch them more than once on my schedule. That is in the garage hooked up to my big screen while on the trainer. Resolution is not great however. Fine but not great. |

I have Universal year-round.
This year, we get Carlton Kirby as the lead guy, with Daniel Lloyd as the sidekick. Kirby gets a lot of flak, but I actually like him. He's a little whimsical.
