Campagnolo Super Record S ?

At the risk of bringing out every snarky curmudgeon, does anyone have any insight into what Campy is announcing in three days?

Calling it Campagnolo Super Record Wireless S...

Looks by the dark images to be a disc group and for road so Im guessing a 1x system.

Anyone have the scoop on this?

A video of Super Record S Wireless recently posted on the Campagnolo Facebook page is a bit dark and murky (likely on purpose), but it does appear to show a front derailleur, so its not likely that it is a single ring group. If Campagnolo introduced a a wireless electronic 1x groupset, I would think it would more likely be under the Ekar name (maybe "Ekar WRL").

Just to throw a thought out - one of the features of the Super Record Wireless group is the reduced sized chainrings and sprockets (cassettes all start with 1ot, largest chainring 50t). I don't think the this has been well received, particularly that the largest cassette is a 10-29. Maybe the "S" version uses more traditional sized cassettes and chainrings? This might also allow "semi-mullet" setups for those who want lower gears, with a big cassette in the back and a sub-compact in front. Or maybe I'm just daydreaming.

Standard chainrings is a good call.
I personally like the 48/32 with the 10-29 but I’m guessing it’s no use to the pros.

Well at answer my own question… based on some photos in the fb campy group
Looks to be a lower cost WRL group with matte finish with no ti or ceramic.

Does seem a strange choice, especially as their competitors continue to push wireless/electronic further down the groupset range.

For whatever marketing reasons they may have, for the past few years all Campagnolo electronic groups have been labeled "Super Record" - all non "Super Record" groups the past few years have been mechanical.

By the way - anybody have an idea of what the "S" stands for?

Campagnolo is actively trying to get more group sets on complete bikes as an OEM supplier, so this would make sense.

What's strange? The name? Maybe, I guess but a wireless group(all wireless, copy to shimano) 'pushed' further down the groupset range.

Wouldn't surprise me to see a Chorus wireless group soon as well...
