Glad your injuries weren't more significant after the accident.

I don't have much to add other than to say the following:

Concussions are consider to be a form of TBI.

Hope that helps folks put it into perspective.

Signed,
someone that's had a couple as well.

dang!

sorry to hear about your crash.

Def new helmet and def MIPS. seems like solid technology.

Id be real patient with your brain, TBIs are no joke. And always take longer than we have time for to heal.

And lets see some pics of that sweet zanc!

Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery.

I've had the Aries for almost a year and I'm pleased with it. If airflow is a key requirement, IMO it ventilates better than internally lined MIPS helmets.

Glad your ok & very glad you had a helmet
I was sure glad I had one when I crashed a few years ago

It is hard to comprehend how hard I hit & how it smashed the front in so far (face plant) thankfully had no brain damage. Photo shows before & after helmet

For myself I knew I had a bad concussion because for the first three nights when I laid down in bed & turned out the lights I would get the spins so bad.

Take care of yourself & watch symptoms for a few days!

Sorry to hear about this, Shino, adding my best wishes for your diagnosis & recovery to the others.

I second the recommendation above to stick with POC since you know they fit your noggin. I seem to recall that POC will give you a discounted replacement if you send back your helmet, or maybe just photos showing that you've cut the straps. Maybe that offer has since lapsed.

I should have stayed in bed today

I went to work which was not easy (I do CAD drafting and look at two screens and draw engineering plans and details), then my Dr. called and recommended i go to a immediate care clinic which I did. I have a concussion but passed all the neurological tests and was told I should take a week off and not bike for a while etc. On the way home on a city bus a kid clobbered my shoulder with his backpack and it ratted me and now i have headache again.. sigh, can't win today. Anyway I should make a recovery she said. Thanks for all the kind sentiments and I appreciate the encouragement to go to the Dr. even if I was an arduous trek there and back.

would training wheels reduce the chances of a crash?

I'm not following, is this an attempt at humor?

Glad you're on the mend! My helmets saved me from more serious injury 3 time over the last 10 years or so. I got a new helmet after every incident. One in particular, I have a blank space in my memory from when it happened and when my friend brought me home in a taxi. We touched wheels, and I went over the bars and hit my head on the pavement (as far as I'm told). I went to the ER and got thoroughly checked out, diagnosis was a mild concussion, thankfully that was all that was wrong.

Heal fast and well.

I am going to guess they mean non-racing wheels/tires and not kid style 'training wheels'

edit: because I don't think there are haters in this thread

hope you are feeling better soon
