Serotta '80 Time Trail bike, one of a kind (need help)

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and to Serotta. I'm Dutch but living in the USA for 3 years to start a small office to support our US activities, we sell smoked salmon. I cycle a lot in the Netherlands and build bikes for my hobby. Now I'm in the USA for a period of 3 years I started working on USA build bikes and parts. At this moment I have a Schwinn and a Softride but expanding all the time. I bought the below mentioned Serotta frame and can't find any information online. I bought it from eBay and the advert mentioned this:

Custom go-fast machine for individual and team time trials. Uses 700c rear and 24" front wheels. Includes gold Edco headset. Columbus aero tubing, 1" threaded steerer with internal rifling, Campagnolo fork ends and 1010B dropouts. 68-mm English-threaded bottom bracket. Built for single chainring, no braze-ons or cable guides for front shifter. Takes aero seatpost (size and spec unknown).

I also asked imput via the Facebook site (Serotta fanclub) and they helped me already but I need more help.

1. Can anyone tell me more about this frame?
2. Does anyone has pictures of this bike (build or frame only)?
3. Does anyone know anything about the parts that where on this bike?

I would love to bring this bike to his original state and preserve it if my wallet allowe it.

Wow - that is different.

Are you sure you aren't missing something that connects the top of the seat tube area to the fitting on the "top tube" near the head tube?

Edit: Or, rephrasing the question: What's the purpose of that fitting?

wow ,no clue with that one.pretty odd looking for sure.maybe Dave Kirk will chime in on it ? he may some insight into who it was made for.

That fitting is an aero mount for downtube shifters. Cool bike! Serotta certainly built some interesting stuff for competition use.

Ah - that explains it. You'd think a DT-shifter lover like me would have realized that.

I was convinced that it had to have something to do with stiffening the frame, because when I look at that I have to wonder what in the world provides stiffness - that one "TT/DT" doesn't look like it would be enough.

We've already chatted about it some on the facebook and I recall is being a bike built for Leonard Harvey Nitz. Beyond that I know little.

I'm so glad someone picked this up!

Please find a 24" bladed carbon wheel and a 700c carbon disc wheel and get this sucker on the ground! Or you could have someone build you up something with spokes. Not sure which is more period correct?

I imagine some kind of track crank with a chainring that rivals the front wheel would help complete the look.

Enjoy it! This bike is so silly it's cool.

Edit: what's rear brake and rear derailleur routing going to look like?

Thank you very much for your feedback and I will keep it in mind for sure. But I will first do my utmost to find out what parts were on it original. I would love to have and keep it in it's original state. I already one a lot of 'project bikes' and would like to keep this as it was 'born'.
