9100 50/34 to 50/36

Anybody swap their Dura Ace 9100 50/34 for a 50/36? Essentially just change the 34 to a 36?

I use a 50/39 on a couple bikes. It works great. If I ever bring either of those bikes to a hilly area I’d have no qualms about a 36. More likely I’d just go back to a 34.

Anyway, I doubt very much that shifting will be negatively impacted and the smaller difference in chainring size is pleasing while riding.

All I meant to say is that Shimano says it's not optimal.

It isn't.

Ayup, plug and play..grease on CR bolts...Fd doesn't care and the 'ramps' gig, matching, is overplayed.

Agree on all counts. Mine works fine.

I also installed a 46-tooth ring on my Indy Fab. Works flawlessly.

The grease on the bolts is a good idea too. I had a creaking 5800 crank last summer. Took out the bolts one by one, dabbed a spot of grease on them, reinstalled, snugged them and enjoyed blissful silence.
