Wow!
Just wow.... Crazy last 10km Yellow jersey is slipping away for many and Ineos may not have the answers we thought they did. BK

Ineos
Interesting to see Bernal seem to sit up for a moment to wait on Thomas. He clearly seems to be the stronger climber. I wonder if they let him assume a leadership role under the "dual leader" idea.
As for the rest, I love seeing the French riding so well. |

No one could have predicted he'd lead by 2 minutes after the Tourmalet.

That was some crazy riding at the end. As others mentioned, Movistar's tactics seemed odd, although perhaps they did have to drive the train at the beginning to keep the break from turning into a real threat.
There were some real treats today, including Sagan at the head of the bunch putting down the power to win 7 points in the intermediate sprint, after having got the breakaway launched. But a lot of good riders went off the back like they had anchors on their bikes, including Yates. And Thomas, who looked concerned before the start, did not look good at the end. Nice stage win for the French! |

Oh my! Can JA hang on over the remaining 4 mountain stages, with a lead of over 2 mins!

Movistar has always been a team that seems to lack direction. They always seem to have conflict or different objectives within the team.
JA is riding incredible...living up to the yellow jersey!! I was hoping he can maintain his GC run...but now I think he is showing it's a real possibility. |

Ineos really struggled. They did not do anything to impress today. They did not even try to control the peloton.

Incredible is one way to put. Sorry for the pessimism but I’m long in the tooth!

I guess at this point when can all agree....to just enjoy the show and not really think too deeply about the kermesse guy with no team dropping all the tiny climbers in the high mountains
Make for some great TV and it's about time Brailsford was shown up Last edited by peanutgallery; 07-20-2019 at 12:44 PM. |

Funny, I felt like Ineos tried, and failed to control the peloton, the stage, however you want to phrase it.
A couple of more days like this and France will have a mega-hero in JA. And, if you want to be really skeptical, I would guarantee he won’t fail a doping test if he wins. BK

Some nice roadside footage of Alaphilippe doing about 30mph up that 17% ramp at the end of the TT. Quite incredible after a 35 minute all out effort. https://twitter.com/theraceradio/sta...514954752?s=21
