John Hollands 55cm 531 frame - $1000

John Hollands 55cm (top tube) Reynolds 531 frame with Ultegra 10 speed triple (52-39-30) and 11-28 ten speed cassette components, Dura Ace hubs on Mavic rims, Brooks leather bar tape. John was a local frame maker known for high quality workmanship. He was productive from the mid 1980's into the mid 2000's. I lived in Bel Air for a period and knew of John's bikes and their reputation. Much later I saw this bike on CL-Philly and bought it. The frame needed TLC, so I had it media blasted and painted by a body shop. I was able to keep the front logo intact, the rest were created to match the originals. This "steel is real" frame can easily be converted to more modern and lighter equipment and would be a spectacular ride. Let me know if need more pictures or info. The white saddle will be replaced.
https://baltimore.craigslist.org/bik...162121795.html
I am also willing to sell the frame only for $700.00.

The bike is in Connecticut. I will meet a buyer in NJ to complete the sale or will assist with shipping.

Eddy Merckx MX-Leader Columbus MXL Tubing (MAX) VVGC

58cm Eddy Merckx MX-Leader Columbus MXL Tubing (MAX) VVGC

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eddy-Merc...AAAOSwrIRe79Ye

https://flic.kr/s/aHskFjxW1A

Up for sale here one Merckx MX Leader in hot red with white, gold edged transfers.

This is most likely as close to NEW OLD STOCK as you will get. I purchased the frame NOS but when built up unfortunately the frame was just too small. It has done less than 200 miles. I can send a link to a full photo gallery so you can see the condition (OR please see final pic for link or copy and paste line below).

https://flic.kr/s/aHskFjxW1A

I have owned and ridden the Meckx Dedacciai 'Zero Uno', 'Corsa SL', 'Corsa SLX' and a Nivacrome 'Acrabaleno' as well as the 'Alu Team' and scandium 'Team SC'. In terms of ride quality the MX-Leader really is utterly sublime. You will not be disappointed.

A combination of the beefed up MAX lugs coupled with Merckx’ own Max fork crown, bi-ovalised down tube and massively oversized chain stays make this one of the stiffest vintage steel frames ever made. According to folk lore after Merckx' first issue of this frame labelled as the ‘Corsa Extra MAX’ built using Columbus’ original MAX tube set and lugs, a few alterations to the tube set were made. It was rumoured the top tube was replaced with Columbus EL OS albeit bi-ovalised in the opposite direction from the original MAX top tube with vertical section against seat tube and horizontal against the head tube (plus Merckx’ own lug set to work with this new tubing configuration). The seat stays apparently were from Columbus SLX. Either way the frame is ‘extremely’ smooth to ride yet stiff enough there is no noticeable flex when out of the saddle.

“The MAX concept originates with Columbus research. The steel used is Nivacrom; thanks to its extraordinary toughness, the tubes thickness has been cut to 0.4mm, making the tubes extremely light. A standard section in a so thin tube would normally make the frame too flexible and so reduce riding performance. i.e. part of the energy generated during pedaling would translate into bicycle deformation. To reduce the flexibility in a MAX tube down to optimum level, the diameters of the tubes need to be increased. In the MAX set this is done selectively, by adopting elliptical sections in areas under the greatest stresses, which are oriented with their major axis along the direction of the stress itself. In the steering area, which is particularly vulnerable to the stresses induced by terrain, the top and down tubes have major axes in longitudinal plane. By contrast, in the areas around the bottom bracket, the top and down tubes have their major axis in transversal plane, in order to better withstand the alternate oscillation which is especially high during sprints.”

Dimensions:

TOP TUBE = 56.3cm C-C
(NB: I've measured the top tube as 56.3cm but on the offical Merckx Century geometry chart it shows the top tube as 56.8cm)
SEAT TUBE = 57cm C-C
HEAD TUBE = 150mm (end to end)
Takes a 27.2mm seat post and 1 inch threaded headset for quill stem
130mm rear OLN
100mm front OLN
The Campagnolo UT cups are included in the sale (but can be removed if so required). As you'll see in my response to another eBayer shown on the last pic.

NB: The frame will be professionally packed including drop out protectors and foam pipe lagging wrapped around each of the frame's tubes.

SEVEN CYCLES Ti/CARBON - $3300 say 55cm

SEVEN CYCLES Ti/CARBON - $3300
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/b...158863344.html

Hi,
I am finally selling my Seven road bike. This is a 2009 Odonata which is a Ti/Carbon frame. Carbon is raw weave with Matte finish and the rest of the frame is triple butted Titanium. The fork is by Wound UP. Carbon legs match the frame tubes in raw weave with matte finish. Fork is nice and stiff, corners really well.
I probably have around 16,000-18,000 miles on the bike.
The bike from Seven in 2009 set up just as it is cost $9600.00 + tax

Frame Geometry:
Frame is 55 cm top tube
Seat tube length 52.0 cm
Head tube angle 71.5 deg
Seat tube angle 74.0 deg
BB drop 7.3 cm
Chainstay length 41.7 cm
Top tube slope 7 deg.
Head tube length 19.8 cm
Estimated standover height 81.5 cm I am 5' 10" with 32" inseam.

The bike is set up with:
Shimano Dura Ace 7900 10 speed group, 11-28 cassette
Mavic Ksyrium wheelset, silver
Thomson seatpost 27.2
Easton EC90 carbon bars, 42 cm
Vittoria Open Corsa tires 23 mm (extra Specialized tires come with the bike)
Chris King sotto voce headset
Specialized Speedzone Elite computer
Kore saddle
Fizik bar tape (excellent condition)
NO PEDALS INCLUDED

So the story goes like this:
The bike has not been ridden in 4 years. I crashed (on a mountain bike) and had a fairly severe injury which has prevented me from riding the bike. The bike has never been in a crash or laid down. Aside from a bit of clean up it is ready to ride. During my rehab I initially rode the bike for about 3 months but I was having trouble on the climbs so I then changed the gearing to facilitate my recovery and not further injure myself. I put on a Shimano Ultegra rear derailleur, cassette (11-32) and chain. It worked for me and those parts are still on the bike. I have the Dura Ace parts that will go along with the bike. The 7900 derailleur and chain only have about 600 miles on them the cassette is original and still in very good condition, no skipping chain whatsoever.
I am sure I am forgetting something in this posting so if you have any questions just ask.
NO EMAILS WILL BE ANSWERED! Text and Phone calls only. Leave msg. if you don't get me.

Thanks for reading this long tale,
David

Interesting, the seller claims this bike has SLX tubing, but his photo clearly shows a Columbus SL tubing decal:

Good Luck!
