I have never noticed many hot rods in Hemmings. I have seen mostly stock "classic" and real Classic cars. I don't subscribe to it so I may have missed hot rod entries there.

That looks like a high end build. Depending on the level of finish and what's under the hood it could be a high dollar car. Might get a better return on the time and effort your Dad poured into it if you spend a few bucks on an ad. What do you think it is worth?

Refusing to spend even a moderate amount of money or effort on finding the right buyer for this car would be a shame, for Mom's pocket-book, dearly departed Dad's memory and the effort he put into the project, and the car itself. |

Nicely done inside and out (what's visible). Original restos look to go in the $20s-$30s. RestoRods asking $40s-$60s. Get this in front of people who know its value and not CL schleps. Maybe worth sticking it on CL for grins, but you're going to field a bunch of crap interest - be prepared. You'll come out (way) ahead swimming in a pool of peers and not a cesspool, even if entry costs you a few $. |

It looks very nice. I think most hot rod people love Fords and coupes above all others. I don't know what demand there is for a 4 door Terraplane. (Terreplane?) One spelling must be correct but I don't know which. :-)

reviving this just to ask. can we post WTB for cars on the forum? id much prefer to buy a car from someone on the forum than some random craigslist person. I need an old Land Cruiser.

i'm currently in the market for another old jeep since mine died a death of massive rust, and my god craigslist is a mess of a place to look for anything automotive. good luck finding an old LC. you and everyone else wants one. you'll find they all either have 1M miles on them and are totally clapped out, or people want 1M dollars for them, and they still have 0.5M miles on em. As someone on this site correctly put it, the "toyota tax".

Even at 175k miles? Its got some weird shaky steering wheel thing when at highway speed and you hit a bump. It feels expensive.
