This forum is filled with incredible people - dream bike content

This place is jam packed with really amazing folks that will go way out of their way to fulfill our common bike nerd dreams. Gotta shout out to a couple amazing forumites for above and beyond grail bike facilitation.

theboucher
I live in Vancouver and scout the Seattle Clist pretty regularly. Shortly after COVID hit last year, a totally wild seat mast Z1 CX came up that fit me perfectly. Dream bike and rare as hens teeth in CX guise. The price was... insane and it was a must purchase.

T******* happened to know the seller and agreed to keep the bike for me in his garage for a few weeks until the border opened up. Well a year and a half went by and the friggin border finally opened and ^^^^ and his partner were as gracious as could be when I showed up yesterday, tail between my legs, penance in hand.

Just an A class dude and if you ever have the chance to buy something off theboucher know you're dealing with a classy and awesome guy.

Tiretrax

A few months ago I came across a basically unridden project california R5 on the Dallas FB. Again, one of my grail bikes from watching Canadian poster child Hesjedal win the Giro on one while wrenching on Cervelos in college. The OG R5CA is an incredibly cool bike and IMO was always cooler than the RCAs that followed.

^^^^^^ was unbelievably helpful, driving over an hour from his house to pickup the bike, check it over, and drop it at a shop for shipping.

Just top class folks on this forum and grateful this place exists.

Once I get these rebuilt the way I want them I'll post threads with better pics but damn is the thrill of the hunt satisfying and you folks are incredibly generous enablers. =D

If anyone needs a favor up in my neck of the woods I'm due to pay it forward.

Two excellent pickups. I agree with you about the R5CA - as good a carbon frame as has ever been made, at least.

I feel the gratitude coming through in your post, so in that spirit... Yeah, bro - you've got it rough! Fair winds...

Love the fendered carbon mobber Parlee; that's how you do it.

And I think OP may have one more recent acquisition from another PL'r to add to this thread, yes? At least, that's my takeaway from this: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=282019

The huge frame bag looks quite out of place on that bike.
