OT: Eglomise - repair or patina?

So most of our things made it through the cross country move in decent shape. This Federal period - Gilt eglomise mirror just dropped one of the decorative balls which I will repair/have repaired. Upon closer inspection I noticed that there is some cracking in the sky of the painted image and I'm trying to decide if it's patina or something I might want to consider having repaired in the future? What do the forum antique/art experts suggest?
