That article says something that seems beyond belief. That the cyclist was carried on the roof of the Subaru Forester for four miles, at which point the driver stopped, pushed the cyclist off the car, and drove away.

Could this possibly be true?

The article just skips around, gives random quotes from people out of context or in odd spots, and suddenly announces a suspect is in custody.

"River is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, evading responsibility-serious physical injury, operating a motor vehicle without a license, and two counts of risk of injury to a child."

Seriously? Not a charge that shows the actions could have resulted in death?

Unbelievable! But...

- First Degree Reckless Endangermanent - Class A Misdemeanor
- Evading/Serious Physical Injury - Felony
- Operating without a license - Ticket, not even a misdemeanor for first offense
- Risk of Injury to a minor - Felony

Still seems like he could get off light or plea the felonies down.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic. They should hit him with everything, and to the most serious degree, possible IMO.

I assume leaving the scene of an accident is maybe covered in one of the charges brought against this fine, upstanding person? I can see the existing charges for everything that happened prior to pushing the kid off the car. If he really did push the kid off the roof and continue on, that seems like we're venturing into the manslaughter realm or something along those lines. But I'm not an attorney or D.A. It would be difficult to control myself around the driver if I was one of the good Samaritans.

Hope the kid pulls through.

It's not a written article. It's just a transcript of the video content. If you have the extra information of the video images, it makes more sense why it is jumping around. It's the human interest angle that he's just a regular nomal high school student with friends.

The arrested driver doesn't have a license to boot.
So he found himself in a hole and just kept digging.
We will probably discover that he lost his license to an earlier DUI charge. (Just speculating here)
