need help choosing a rim

I have some 28 hole WI H3 hubs I would like to use on a new build. I am big and normally use 32/36 hole wheels. Anyways, I am looking for some 28 hole 700c rims for these hubs, they will have 700x33-700x35 tires with tubes mounted on them.

my preferences are-

1. not tubeless or at least easy to mount tubes tires on
2. not fragile, I would just run velocity dyads (525g) if they came 28h
3. welded
4. Black with silver machined walls
5. offset rear would be a bonus

No rim seems to fit this criteria exactly, so far I am considering-

1. DT RR460 or RR440 (never run DT rims before)
2. Mavic Open Pro UST (curious about new mavic product and they look cool)
3. Velocity A23 (uneven non welded seems seem normal for these though)
4. H plus son Archetype (love TB14s)
5. HED plus (tiny brake track is ridiculous, price is crazy)

Anyone have any other ideas? I think that Archetypes or the DT RR460s are on top right now.

Why the HED plus? The C2 Belgium checks all those boxes, save for the offset rear bit.

I've built numerous wheelsets using DT440 rims. They have proved easy to build and tension and so far, have been extremely durable. They stay true and round with minimum attention.

I'm a flyweight, so YMMV, but my experience with DT is all good. They have an offset rear and seem to hit all your boxes.

I'm also a big dude (~215 lbs) and even with 24f/28r spoke counts and skinny road tires, never need to true my Archetypes.

good point, bigger brake track as well. I wonder if those huge stickers can be removed?

As flash mentioned above, HED C2. Skip the plus version. Tires will mount easy, they're cheaper, and will be plenty strong.

Get the DT 460 for a fraction of the HED cost. great rims, I have both the Heds and the 460's and they are both well made.

The Easton R90SL is supposed to be made in the same factory that makes HED rims but sells for a bit less.

I'd say Easton R90SL, Hed Belgium, Pacenti Forza, or Boyd Altamont.

The Altamont and Forza are the heaviest of the bunch and with the extra material would be worth checking out first for bigger riders. Depending on the generation of H3 hub you might want the offset Forza since they had a bigger tension imbalance earlier on.

I was just going to suggest the Alamonts as well. Seem to be fairly reasonably priced compared to some of the others.

I've been running a set of 24/28 Belgium C2s late summer and early fall, and haven't had any complaints.. and I'm typically in the 235-245 range...

rear will be 135mm so the dish will be mitigated some.

I used to have a set of Belgium+ - the logos were printed on, not stickers. Also they weren't as stiff as Archetypes.
