Hey, they won a game and lost 11 more. They might have valuable tips on how to get that first draft pick.

any NFL team can beat any other NFL team if the circumstances line up right. I'm sure all those teams that beat the Bungles took them fairly seriously

Its also not about "the Bengals."

Like any intelligence gathering operation, you want to hoover up as much information as possible that could be useful down the road.

Yeah, the team is butt, but those coaches, their system and those signals may end up on another team down the road where it matters.

I do love they trotted out exactly the same excuse they used in Spygate which turned out to be a total lie.

I love all the little side rumors coming out: 8 minutes of footage of the Bengals' sideline, etc. That's exactly what happened in '07, all sorts of rumors about the secret footage, then it comes out and there are a bunch of shots of the Ravens' cheerleaders, and no one cares or is even paying attention...

The ones I really feel bad for are the guys on the video crew (who are all subcontractors making content for the Patriots' website). One little oversight, and they've caused a big headache for their employers.

so for spygate they were docked a first round draft choice and belicheck fined 500,000. I guess Goodell needs to go much bigger now since last time was not a deterrent.

I thought Uncle Roger destroyed that set of tapes before anyone else could see them?

Because they were private contractors filming the scout, this is going to be much more difficult to call Spygate 2 or for Goodall to resolve

More "class" from the Patriots...........not really shocked. Most Pat's fans I've met are pretty turdsy......

And I'm sure no one involved would trade a single ring in exchange for getting that pick and cash back. It's not going to change because why should it? Bill and Brady really have zero incentive to care about how lost picks and such impact the team that they are both leaving pretty soon.

I was watching them lose the other night and thinking Bill would have to be insane not to retire as soon as Brady does. Brady hasn't looked like he was having a lot of fun recently.

And then it's back to obscurity for the Pats.

The Patriots win, quite often. So I am OK with them cheating.

But the cheat against the Bengals? That is just stupid. Maybe Papa Bill is getting senile.
Relax, I'm a Cincy boy.

^^^ uh, no thank you. I can find the answer myself without falling down that Dunkin'-scented rabbit hole into alternative reality.

I'd forgotten that Goodell shared the eight tapes reportedly turned over by the team employee with the media. Of course, we only have his word that there were only eight.
