Campy and flat bars - are Paul Thumbies for Campy even real??

Has anyone seen a Paul thumbie for campy with their own eyes? I've been searching for over a year with no luck. They DO exist right?! If anyone has a line on a set I'd love to hear about it.

Are there any other options for this kind of thing that anyone knows about? Trying to run campy 10sp on flat bars over here and basically hitting a brick wall.

Any thoughts?

The most obvious option is that Campagnolo made 10spd flat bar shifters in a number of groups for a few years:

There are a few sets of these on ebay right now, but they aren't cheap.

I agree, they seem to be a fairytale only .)

Like Mark mentions there are some flatbar integrated brake / shift levers for 10s. They actually work v well tho im not super fond of the chunky brake lever. The chorus in carbon is a little better looking but still not as nice as a paul thumbie with some nice elegant brake levers.

Hey! Thank you for that suggestion, it is an excellent recommendation, and does do exactly what I said I was trying to do. Was really hoping to find a slightly more elegant and aesthetically pleasing solution, but maybe those could fit the bill in the meantime while I search for those elusive thumbies or......??

I have wondered this myself. I would love to build a flat bar Chorus 11spd bike and those shifters would be amazing, but I have never seen a pair - even on the internet.

Here is mine. They are solid and allow downtube shifters to be mounted on these bars.

I have them off the bike for now though since I am in a dropped bar phase.

Shimano thumbies, which remain an elegant solution, can be run in friction mode with Campy, right? Or, am I missing the point which is the desire to be 100% devoted to a 100% Campy shifting experience?

I do like indexed, but failed to consider a friction shifting option with shimano thumbies mated to the campy gear. I’m down with that in the interim. That would work right? Anybody see any reason why not?

Did Campy ever make an 11 speed flat bar shifter? I am only aware of the 10 speed (Veloce)?

On the other hand, since 11 speed is compatible across the board, I suppose you could use a Shimano or Sram 11 speed flat bar index shifter with Campy wheel/cassettes. Mix and match!

Good Luck!

No, I meant to use the Thumbies with 11spd time trial shifters (I think there were some?)

Yes, that would work, and allows you to choose either 10s or 11s (or 12s?). Friction shifting, in my opinion, is easier anyway. As another poster mentioned, the tolerances between a Shimano 11s cassette and a Campy 11s cassette are not noticeable. On one road bike, I use Campy 11s ergo shifters mated to a 11s Shimano cassette with no issues. I assume Shimano 11s indexed thumb shifters would work fine with a Campy cassette, working with Campy derailleurs too.
