It'd still be good to know how it rides...

Have you considered alerting authorities about this? If the seller did it once, likely he has done this many times before...

oh no! that means all those PRs were fake too! In all seriousness I am amazed you got your money back. a person who would lie about its provenance and defraud you is not someone i'd expect to take it back.

I rode it the last two weeks and broke a bunch of PRs—but it is a good 3.5 lbs lighter than anything else I typically ride. Only problem now is I didn’t get the real C60 experience. So that itch is still not scratched. That and another buyer beware purchase, a pinarello f8, are bikes I’d like to try. But maybe I’ll just let Clean39T suss out the genuine Pinas since I’ve proved myself incompetent In carbon bike land.

I spoke to the seller on the phone and he seems horrified to have sold me a fake. Also, deal was done at his house, in his garage. He showed me his vintage Peugeot. I met his wife. All stuff that someone wittingly trying to defraud me would avoid. Plus giving me my money back leads me to think he was nine the wiser. His other bike in the garage was an F10.

Wouldn't it be funny if you got a hold of a C60 and weren't able to beat your PR that you set on this thing?

Wow. The thing I see apart from the cable routing is that the lug edges are much smoother on the genuine article (below) - the OP's seem more jagged. Good eye, paceliners.

I support that option. I better look really close at the F8 I got when it lands too - seller sent me the SN and everything looks right, but I'll double-check it. I have no doubts about my F10 and K8-S since they both came with papers....

Same, unless it’s of suspect long-term quality. It at least looks pretty darn good. Nice choice of bar tape too.

Thanks for sharing the thread. Always good to know what you’re buying and how to make sure you actually get what you seek.

My thoughts exactly about the claim to have come from Merlin. Scary story either way. Appreciate the expertise of this group.

Impressive fake. It's hard to imagine it would be worth someone's time to create fake C60s. Is it really a profitable endeavor?
