Looking for replacement XTR M980 Pedal Top Plates - are they the same as XT/M780?

I bought a well used pair of M980 pedals that aren't holding that well - guessing they need new top plates - does anyone know if the M970 version will work? That's all I can find online and my LBS said they couldn't get any for months.

Thanks!

Best way to confirm the parts are the same is to go to Shimano Tech Documents and look at the exploded view (“EV” ) for the pedal and compare the plate part numbers to what Performance has on its website.

Also, sometimes the diagram for the newer diagrams will list compatibility with older parts.

Just ordered these to try and replace a M980 pedal top plate and they did not fit my pedals. The bolt holes JUST slightly don't line up and so you can't get the plates tightened down well enough. I'm in the same waiting game as you now.
