Aww. People are getting their feelings hurt? Thoughts and prayers, baby. All manufacturers make stuff that screws up. Anyone defending their favorite brands at the expense of another is showing their own hypocrisy.
I have my favorites too. But my identity is not involved in that decision.

I know everyone loves a good Sram pile-on, but this is literally a seven second video of the announcer going "Bauke Mollema with a mechanical issue" while he looks down at his bike, and no further details.
I mean... death to Sram! get out the pitchforks! |

I think you're probably missing the bit where Mollema says "****ing SRAM" quite angrily.

I have a recent sram chain tossing story that turned out really badly for the rider. Severe concussion and broken collarbone. Not sure it's really only SRAM that has this problem though.
If asked, I would say that I ride a SRAM drivetrain, but the truth is only the shifters and rear derailleur are SRAM on one bike, and the other uses a CX-70 FD. |

Sounds more like a bad mechanic story. After all, there is (a non-) zero chance that you're going to drop a chain if the limits are set correctly. A bad artist blames his brushes.

Yeah...but if the brush falls apart, that's not the fault of the artist...

I don't think we're going to know, because the FD was destroyed. But how far off can the limits really be and still work right? They sell chain keepers for a reason other than poor wrenching, I believe. I figure he was probably shifting to the small chainring from a fairly small cog in the back, which is how I have always managed to drop a chain. Power surge at the second the chain is at the wrong point of moving from one chainring to the other, and off it goes. And that's what happened to Andy schleck, isn't it?

uh, you sorta need the sound where the rider makes his thoughts quite known as to how he feels about the product
