Popped up on a streaming channel the other day...really it's some of the guitar licks that keep reverberating in my head.

For some reason, Frank Zappa's "Camarillo Brillo" has been going through my head non-stop for the past 4-5 days...which is weird, because despite being a fairly rabid Zappa fan, that's one of my least favorite tunes of his.

On Danny Gatton
I was fortunate to see Danny Gatton and Delbert McClinton at The Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. They had been filming a video in town for the Sun Medley set (can’t find that video), cruising around in a Ford roadster street rod.
Dale Benz, The Sheldon’s director, began the intro telling of the hall’s impeccable acoustics. He turned, looked over his shoulder at the amp stacks, and said “oh, hell” and the show began. The audience was filled with every band’s guitar player, a who’s who of the area’s string benders. A year later he was gone. RIP Mr. G. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fcBQ4BJoGME |

Ya wanna know what's stuck in my head? What I'm missing? Live, local music.
Pressing Strings, a local band, live in a local bar in 2016, covering Zeppelin's Going to California. I really miss live music, with all of its spontaneity, crowd noise, off tunings, missed notes, soaring cathartic highs, deep mellow valleys, and imperfections. Local amateur, globe hopping megastar, and everything in between. Classical, blues, cajun, rock, folk... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9CP6kum17U

The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
My brother sent me a video of Jay Siegel and the Tokens "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", now I keep hearing it. From the early 1960's. Probably too early for most of you.
