Basically all the great older songs TwinstheNewTrend hear for the first time...
Honestly, their excitement and unbridled enthusiasm listening to great songs of all genres is infections, and a welcome respite from the current affairs.
Some of the best (so far): Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight (the one that went viral) https://youtu.be/0l3-iufiywU Dolly Parton - Jolene https://youtu.be/_pEPFYiJOXU Michael McDonald - Keep Forgettin https://youtu.be/11rZ2kPLT6k Fugees - Killin Me Softly https://youtu.be/1OCi-AKCPlg Pavarotti https://youtu.be/SeSigHJrW2o Bill Burr (not a song, but fantastic nonetheless) https://youtu.be/DErjYpxaOQE Last edited by yinzerniner; 08-11-2020 at 02:25 PM. |

Keith Don't Go. A plea from the great Nils Lofgren for Keith Richards to not kill himself with drugs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weySNSwHeBA Nils formed Grin back in the 70s. He's worked with Lou Reed, Maya Angelou, Branford Marsalis, Bruce Springsteen, Ringo Starr, Neil Young ("He bought me a cheesebuger and a Coke"), and Rod Stewart. Nils put a polka beat into Neil Young's Southern Man when he was a teenager. I finally saw him a couple of years ago, when he played guitar (of course), harp, accordion (he was one of the tops in the nation as a kid), and tap danced as well. It was an awesome show. This is the story about how he put the polka beat into Neil Young's Southern Man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHf66yqenjw

Quote:
I wouldn't have realized that there was a polka interlude in there, either, unless someone had told me. He pulled it from his experience as a national level accordion player, playing polka songs, among others. I can't remember how I came across that info, but Nils sums it up nicely in the video. http://mayophoto.net/tsg/nils_lofgre...interview.html
