Thanks for that Marc. I had no idea that Wire was still in existence. I will have to look up the recent albums. It's been a very long time since I purchased Pink Flag at School Kids Records in Ann Arbor, but I still remember how happy I was to find a copy.

Dylan, still

Well, given that I'm still bummed that I was supposed to see Dylan live 3 nights ago, I'm still re-listening to the three new songs released so far.

And, I'm largely comforted by the news that his new double album will be out next week. And by this new fairly long interview/article, one of very few from him in recent years, and IMO a very good read: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/12/a...owdy-ways.html

I'm an old rocker from way back. I got thoroughly entrenched in hair metal while serving most of the 1980's in Germany. I love all forms of music, but my go to is usually metal. I'll have to admit that recently, I've rediscovered myself a little and the post-grunge/new-metal has been quite listenable. Anyway, I got this one rolling around in my brain today:

Say what you will about their music, but cot day-um could they assemble a group of high-caliber musicians! Some of the scenes where Rick Marotta or Bernard Purdie or Chuck Rainey recreate the parts they played on that album...mind=blown
+1 for anything Steely Dan. In my book, Donald Fagan, and Walter Becker (RIP) represent the highest form of musical artistry.

Junior Kimbrough....

If you have never had the pleasure with guys blues, you are in for a treat. I'm not an expert on hum but he is easy to read up on. They call his stuff Mississippi hill to differentiate it from the sound at the delta. for decades if not to this day he was known to play at only one place, so if you wanted to see him you went there, many luminaries doing so. He's is a gun one to listen to.

I've been going back through the Prince catalog over the last few weeks. Incredible.

This is a great example (okay, Sheila E, but let's be honest, it's Prince) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMJj...&start_radio=1 . It's 12 minutes of pop, funk, great production, and 80s cocaine and 930s level of excess. Awesome!
