Carapaz is the man- Jai is running strong but Carapaz has the experience and overall, I believe he's the top rider here.
With the race so tight, the pressure and strategy- I think experience will count for more. Carapaz is a smart aggressive rider that knows how to win GT's. |

Either one could have a bad day and crack at this point ... or not.

The determining stages look like they'll be Stage 20 to Marmolada (three cat 1 climbs including a mountain finish), and the final time trial on stage 21.

Pretty neat that The Shark remains in the top 10.
Am also impressed at the number of different stage winners. Intermarche’ riders are an inspiration! |

Intermache is absolute riding a barnstormer of a race.
As for the overall, seems hard to pick I mean Hindley and Carpaz seem so evenly matched, honestly it could come down to a time bonus here or there. At the same time write off Alemada at your own pearl, he is hovering very close and he has the upper hand on both of them in the TT |

I hope the Giro doesn't come down to a win on bonus seconds. I wanna see someone attack hard and do some damage to his competitors. I'd love to see Hindley win just cuz his second place two years ago was so devastating. Time for redemption. |

Well my post about Almedia didnt age well....
But the other 3 are so evenly matched it's nuts. Of course 2 more mountain stages to go then the TT, will be a interesting TT between 3 guys that can't TT. |

MVDP is gathering data to assess his prospects for a future grand tour, isn’t he?

I find the pattern more helpful than noodles for individual riders. Flat lines are sprinty, flat stages, and spaghetti lines are climbing stages.
You can see who the strong utility guys are too: flat lines on both sprinty and climbing stages. Once the visualization is made, then someone can dig into the numbers on those domestiques. Notable people here are Hugh Carthy at 18th and Jhonathan Narvaez at 40th. |

Looking at the cards you have, I'd say, "Go fish."

I don't think so. He's a bit too big to climb well. He's gone in breaks but has he been at the pointy end of things toward the finals of any of the mountain stages?
