I had wanted a Rocket - mostly because they sponsor a lot of cyclist - but the price on them is just so high. I found this one on eBay (just over 1 year old) for $1,000, whereas a new one (albiet with a PID) was $1,850. I felt it was the best price on a nearly new machine that I would get for what I wanted.

What, no Formica counters or Mr Coffee's? This is so out of my league, and I'm sponsored by a coffee company!

And as a follow up, where did you learn to do latte art? |

The 10oz nN cups are my favorite. Handlebar coffee has them. I dont think any coffee drink, latte or even caps (and definitely not long blacks or americanos) should go over the 2oz shot / 8oz other liquid ratio. https://www.handlebarcoffee.com/coll...-handlebar-mug |

$20 for a mug? Unless its made by Heath or the like, that is a head scratcher.

Aeropress, with hand ground fresh beans each time.
I didn't believe it until I actually tried it, but it makes such a rich and delicious cup of coffee from an inexpensive ($30) and simple gadget. It also encourages experimentation to arrive at the optimum personalized brew method. I'm in a one coffee drinker house (me), so I don't need to make multiple cups at a time, which would be very inconvenient using an Aeropress. When I have company, I use a Capresso brewer with built-in burr grinder. |

Aeropress looks like its worth a try.
I use a clever dripper. Was also using a V60 kettle but its rattled on the (gas) stove and was very loud. Returned it. Tried the Japanese Fino kettle and is much quieter. Quote:
