My FZ1 on a local country road yesterday.
All my honey do's were done so off I went for a couple of hours of beautiful riding.
This thing is so great I don't ride my R1 anymore.

Best I've done is 1:33-something on a bone stock CBR600RR on DOT tires. (I is slow...) This was before they widened turn 4.
Thanks! And frankly, a 1:33, on any stock bike with stock tires tells me you know a little something about riding too!

Some people seem to think the Big Track is a "horsepower" track because it's so sweeping with the long straights. I think it's more of a "momentum" track. Nailing the exit of Turn 5, in my opinion, is the key to getting a good time there.

The front end gets a wee bit light exiting #5 doesn't it?

Lol! You've been there too! I've crashed pretty hard twice at Turn 5. One of the crashes permanenly damaged my right wrist. The wrist bones are now fused together and I only have about 20% movement in the wrist. I still race though.

Yeah and the front end gets really light cresting Turn 6!! I get plenty of headshake every time comig through there. I've probably done 1000 laps around that track over the years and I still get goose bumps evey time.

I like the place! I will likely race there again in the summer....

A couple of adornments related to the track in my office (I'm #83):

Going from turn 7 to 9 there is just too much time to hold the throttle open while trying not to think how far you might shoot across the bumpy desert if something breaks. I NEVER consider that I might make a mistake.

I have had a 1987 BMW K75S and 1988 Yamaha Route 66 each for almost 23 years now.

18 great years of sport touring the Midwest and Northeast on the flying brick.

I have not swung a leg over either motorcycle in 5 years since I upped my bike game Maybe this year. Maybe not. They are buried in there somewhere. Maybe time to dig them out.

Nice to see all the cool bikes on this thread! I still think about a Ducati Sport Classic or a 2005 or before Triumph Bonneville.

I need pics

Nice Bike!

Guzzi's and New England always brings back great memories!

Freeman's BMW and the old Ducati shop around the corner in Beverly (a few blocks away from where Parlee is/was) used to rent out the Loudon NH Raceway twice a year. We used to bring my aunt's Guzzi with us to track day and it was always a blast!

Shades of grey. Choices are good.

Luckily my better half also enjoys motorcycles.

currently in winter storage..but probably selling in the spring if i'm not inspired to re-do the modded ass-end.
as stock, yamaha bolt 950.

with the new subframe (bolt-on) that i welded together as my first welding project (details here).
was too throw-together to be worth painting so now it's really rusty.

don't think I've actually taken a pic of my ST3.

Rode it yesterday. Little chilly... Shopping for some heated grips now. Have some bar risers, but haven't put em on yet. 'TT' is a little long for me on this bike.

I'll see what I can do about a pic.

I'm trying to avoid PMS right now, so gotta ride at least once in a while!
