I was thinking if he has to be sitting around healing for long periods of time, maybe we could collect up a care package of cycling magazines, dvds stuff like that.

Hopefully we can get more details soon, and super hopefully those details are positive.
+1 on giving it a little time. And if anyone can discuss the situation with his family that would be great. Like several mentioned, it is hard to know the extent of his insurance coverage and resources without family input. Whatever it is, count me in.

He’s the one that organized the gofundme. Probably a family friend.

But to that point, there have been fraudulent gofundme accounts as well. And in consideration of the whole 3% thing going to some tech bro, I’d rather send it direct to Keith.

He's the one who set it up. Presumably legit, but I don't have any other info.

If we have a way to send funds direct, id rather do that since 3% of the funds from the PL alone will be a hefty sum.

Agree, rather just PayPal F&F. Once there is a known path.

In a situation like this, nothing is more useful than cash. To me, 3% is a small fee for gathering up donations and providing an accounting of them. Perhaps one of you clever guys would start a Pace Line GoFundMe account. Count me in. And even if he has a good health insurance plan, it's probably only covering 80% or so of the hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills. After a deductible.

BBD

Just sent a donation to the GoFundMe.

Maybe we could have a PL fundraiser above and beyond the GoFundMe?

Money is good...and if there's a direct way to donate, I'm in.

Also, food is good. Sending a meal for 6 people or whatever is a gesture that goes beyond cash. If someone was close enough to Keith and knew address, etc, I'd chip in $100 for that, above and beyond the donation mentioned above.

Note...I don't want to know his address...if there is someone who does, and is willing to take the lead, I'd send them the dosh.

Keith and I belong to the same faith. I’m almost certain he’s taken care of as far as the meals go. But if not, I’m in for that as well.
