First long ride yesterday and no, I'm not going to let it go. Butter. I think I like it better than the Fierte IT. And maybe the 585?

All these posts are having me scouring FBM and local Craigslist.
@Nick, any update on a potential spring ride at Serotta? |

Ottrott rear end question?
I noticed that all the ottrott's here have the carbon rear end. How common was the full ti rear end used? I could see how the carbon would flex more with the bearing used in the drop out. Was the ti an option or the carbon?

Far from an expert, others will correct me, but my impression was that the original Ottrott, the ST, was fully custom so it was buyer's choice, though perhaps the carbon stays with the bearings were the default. The later non-custom GS had carbon rear stays and lacked the bearings; I don't think there was a customization option with the GS.

As I recall, when I purchased my first Ottrott in 2003, the carbon rear stay was an option. The dealer said it was a “well worth it” upgrade.

I meant to post this when I purchased it, that was 2014! I found it on ebay, a shop in NY was selling it as NOS. I'm told it's a 2009, and the shop owner was to send the documentation if he found any, never did. This frameset replaced my (I still have it), Serotta made Schwinn Paramount. That's how I found my way to the old forum in the Serotta days.

I'll go take a pic now, but you need to tell me where you went to high school?

Built up with DA9000, still shifts perfectly 10 years on. Louis is probably thinking Whisky Tango Foxtrot to my question? It's an old STL thing, maybe not anymore.

Legend looks great - and that extra length on the fork steerer tube came in handy. One thing though, you need some red thread on the bar tape, or a few other red highlights to coordinate with the decals. Edit - One other thing - if that's a garage door, it's the nicest one I've seen in quite a while. |

I must say, that DA 9k crank has a nice "modern vintage" look these days. I like it.

I really wish there was more classic silver parts available, especially in the drivetrain. FYI - these are the "recalled" cranks, I just keep an eye on them myself. When I checked, there was NO guidance from Shimano.
