Tennessee Flat Top Box with Roseanne Cash. Originally by Johnny Cash. Love the guitar riff. Trying to learn it.

Nice range of music posted tonight, I have records by everyone mentioned. Must remember to scrounge for more Stranglers albums, especially the first two.
Ken, good luck with the guitar work. I wish that I could commit the necessary time to learning more. |

Mazzy Star ... Fade Into You.
Man, music can take you back. I’m listening to a woman named Hope, and all of a sudden it’s 1995, just before the dawn of the tech invasion in the City. And I’m having the time of my life.

Early fan here, carried over from listening to the Rain Parade and Opal.

Dave Roback died a few months ago. I wasn’t aware. He and Hope were a great pairing. He laid down some haunting, melodic riffs and her voice is some kind of raspy molasses infused heaven.

I was watching a documentary on the making of Steely Dan's Aja the other night, so now I've got "Peg" stuck in my head.
Say what you will about their music, but cot day-um could they assemble a group of high-caliber musicians! Some of the scenes where Rick Marotta or Bernard Purdie or Chuck Rainey recreate the parts they played on that album...mind=blown |

I will. They were great! I'd like to see that documentary.

Thanks. I wasn't aware either. Will have to dig out some of the lps, it's been a while since I have listened to them.
