I hope I can remember seeing a .5 in a Serotta serial number. It's sure to come up again at some point.

His is a custom, Serotta may have used the actual seat tube size in their serial number.

Yes 53.5 is the seat tube size c-to-c and is in the serial number as it is a custom frame. None of my standard size serottas have the extra .5 in the serial number.

That orange is delicious! Seriously thinking about getting my CRL painted that color.

Incidentally -- what's the difference between CRLs and CSIs? Internal rear brake cable vs. open, and. . .

Bueller? Anybody?

cachagua -- I think the CRL was a predecessor to the CSi, and is similar to the model. I don't know all differences between the two, but maybe someone will chime in and answer that question.

As far as I know the main difference is the brake cable routing. Internal with side ports on the CRL, split cable stops on the CSI.

I think there are more differences in CSIs during the course of its run than between the CRL and early CSIs.

Chiming in late. I have a 60x60 CSi that used to belong to dbrk. Bought it from him a decade or so ago. It is a bi-laminate, part brazed part lugged. Have always wished I had a full lugged one.

It is now my Colorado bike (see what I did there) keep it at my mother-in-law's in Ft Collins.

What's the story on the fillet brazed CSIs? I haven't looked through all the catalogs, but the ones I've seen have been lugged. Are all the fillet brazed frames customs? What years?

Didn't we have a spreadsheet for CSI serial numbers?

Mine is a faux lugged csi. From what I gathered it was because there were no lugs made to fit the larger headtube so they were filleted and carved out to look like lugs while the rest of the tubes were traditionally lugged. Is there actually a full filleted csi?
