A Kvale absolutely belongs in this thread.

I don't know how I feel about a Merckx with fenders, though!

It’s what makes that photo awesome to me. It’s an all day comfort race bike used for all day rides. Used as intended but not really.

One of the Kvales I've owned over the years.

I have one left and I'm keeping it for a rando bike.

I have spent years and years on this forum. I really like the place, I know it's biases, but maybe they are even stronger than I realized. Does anybody on this forum like bicycles made in this century?

Don't get me wrong, if I went to a car show, I would take a walk thru the classic car section. But probably spend more time looking at the modern cars, particularly something just released or concept cars. (I am not at all a car guy, so forgive me is this analogy is strained).

#79 in the thread, it shows a Bixxis Pathos titanium bike, that was made in the 21st Century. Hell, BIXXIS is short for 'Italian Bicycles for the 21st Century'

Sure! That's what most of us ride on a day-to-day basis, for the most part.

But -- like cars and teenage boys who have grown up to adults -- what really pulls on the heartstrings are the bikes that we imprinted on when we were young or getting into the sport (and probably couldn't afford at the time). For many of us (most of us?) that's the late 70's to late 80's.
