Sunday morning MTB ride with the Medicare Marauders, north side of the Tisbury Great Pond. Started out just above freezing but warmed up nicely.

It has just been crazy here. Stunning weather. I'm realizing I rode 23 out of 31 days in October and I've ridden 8 out of 10 days in November so far. I haven't gotten wet once since September I think.

It's been warm, but some rides lately have been in between in that annoying zone where clothes are either too warm or too cold. And even though it's been crazy warm the sunlight is scarce, it always feels like the sun just rose or is just about to set. I've been very busy, so I'm not doing anything crazy, just all my typical local places, but it sure has been pretty.

As and aside.. when I upload my pictures here they seem to get re-compressed and lose a ton of sharpness, does anyone know what that is? It's something on the website. I'm using JPG and size the pictures to 1024 for the longest dimension.

One of the pictures I was trying to upload is being rejected..

Thanks, to be honest though it's getting harder and harder to find open views up here. Everybit of open land is being bought up by developers despite the lack of water, roads in and out, etc.

To many views like this are gone. This barn was redone and added on too with some huge clear plastic covered section and the house and little red cabin done. And then that hillside behind it and before the mountains is all mansions now.

Much larger view of this at the link below, at full size this is huge and you can see individual skiers on the slopes.

Agree on the weather. I've only missed riding 4 days in the past 7 weeks.

Gosh darn James, that's like a 4-seasons 3D paper theater composite image.

A short Skyline ride with my neighbor Simon this morning. Had to get home early so I could go riding with Mrs Baroness Blubba in the early afternoon.

^ If I ever come back home I'm bringing a bike with me and riding Skyline. Without a doubt!

Veteran's Day ride for me today. That meant firing up the patriotic PDG Paramount and breaking out my Army biking jersey. I made sure to include the bike in every picture I took today.

Salute to my fellow vets!

At Cemetery Point after riding by the graves here and at the cemetery in Eden to honor the local vets no longer with us.

Leaving out of Huntsville on the beginning of the bike path. Safe to ride it fast this time of year as normally hardly anyone else is out.

Stopping at the edge of the reservoir.

Heading back to Eden via the bike path. One of several bridges along the way.

Another stop heading back to Eden. When the bike path has a lot of people on it I ride the 50 mph highway you see here. Sucky chipseal with no shoulder so I love my Varia Radar and rear view mirror.

Back in Eden and about 2 miles from the house.

Out midday today on the "upgraded" Look 555. Ultegra bits changed out for Dura Ace ones Sunday. Then before the ride today I decided to put the old Bontager Speed Limit brakes on it. No reason other than I thought they matched up well cosmetically. All the new parts worked fine on the 22 mile ride today. Overcast and windy late in the ride.

At a stop in Huntsville

The stripes on the bike match up to the color scheme on this one.

Snow up on the peak of Powder Mt.

Ben Lomond in the background of this shot is also snow covered now.

These kinds of signs are all over because, "New Jersey’s governor issued a drought warning Wednesday and said the state could implement mandatory water restrictions if conditions worsen.

A record dry spell has led to the driest conditions New Jersey has had in nearly 120 years, prompting a staggering increase in the number of wildfires, state officials said at a news conference."

was actually able to get out for a ride this morning after all, didn't think I was going to able to.. although it was a slow one as I was not at my best.. but it was a nice, crisp winter day in NorCal.. even had to break out the leg warmer this morning! Also, forgot how nice the Serotta rode after riding the Anderson all summer.. could be the frame, could be the hand-built wheelset.. but it was niiicccee!

Had to get my chai and yum yum at the Cookie Company!

We did the same 20-mile ride as last week. It was a bit chilly descending but nice overall in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
