Yup, sure is and good question. That pic was taken a few miles after I made an abrupt 180 on singletrack after I spooked something really big on the trail on a late afternoon ride.

I can take it down if you wish.

Fall is coming to NJ, still pretty green in some spots.

Yesterday was a beautiful day on the road.

A beautiful ride at the Quabbin Reservoir on Friday led by thollandpe and including bewheels and me. Stony and sandy with lots of steep ups and downs.

Western MA ride out of Amherst with my friend John Fabel (who made the wooden Sylvan Bikes). We rode through Leverett, Wendell, and Montague and visited the Monk's Cave and rode down through Rattlesnake Gutter, an amazing cliff-sided ravine.

Apologies for poor pix orientation, I'm on my iPad away from the laptop.

Another swell ride with my pal Simon, and my jolly older-than-I-am-and-almost-weighs-more-than-I-do Bridgestone, out to the Fort Valley Country Store. Speaking of the Country Store, I don't have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to religion, just let everyone do what they do so long as they don't bother anyone else. But. And this is a big BUT: If the Country Store only opens at 10 on Sunday because of church, then Sunday church should be moved to a more sensible time, like sometime after 8 pm. Wrapped up the ride with a climb up to Dickey Ridge Visitor Center on Skyline Drive. Ratio of cars to cyclists was approximately 68-to-me.

X01 10-50 cassette. I haven't needed the last couple of cogs yet, but I'm sure at some point I will!

I wrapped up todays ride with a visit to my parents grave sites. The two large monuments are of the lumber barons that founded my town.
