Michael, close for sure, and these are springing up in a lot of old, dismantled apple orchards around here. This one is on Springdale road south of Winchester just before it attaches to Germany road. A pretty good idea to harness the sun and cut down on fossil fuels.

Is this an Alliance titanium road bike? Sure looks like it but I can't see the whole decal. If so, I bet it is one hell of a nice ride. Erik does great work.

Hey Dave,

It is an Alliance gravel bike, but definitely long and low, so on the faster road side of the gravel spectrum, but with plenty of clearance for 45s. I need to swap some parts and get some more time on it, but overall it's an excellent climbing and descending bicycle with plenty of pep when you put some power to the pedals. I really had fun on it yesterday!

Great bike, Adam. As you probably know, I have an Alliance steel road bike that has a Paul Sadoff (Rock Lobster) steel fork. It's a super smooth ride. Good luck with yours.

Yes, I have seen yours and it's very nice! I have had quite a few nice titanium bikes and this one is up there with the best of them. I am looking forward to the parts swap and more time riding it!

Yesterday was the second day of my friend Chet’s annual “Green Mountain Gravel Grab” where he puts together at least two new gravel routes over in the Green Mountains of Vermont and we go ride them for a day of fitness and fellowship. This year I couldn’t make day one, but day two more than made up for it! We started in the small village of West Rupert, just over the border from New York, and first rode east further into the Green Mountains, then did a loop back west across the NY border, then turned back east to West Rupert to finish our ride on the scenic rural D&H Rail Trail. The fall foliage was stunning and the climbs were seriously challenging on these well-maintained gravel roads. After the ride’s finish, we adjourned to local Sherman’s General Store a few doors away from our starting point and enjoyed all sorts of treats from this prototypical and iconic small town Vermont store. This day was the essence of back roads gravel cycling–Scenic beauty, absent traffic, fitness sharpening terrain, and wonderful fellowship with friends. After yesterday's hair-raising ride I wanted to just have fun today. So, back out on the wonderful 1982 Krapf. Everything about this bike is a joy. The looks, the smoothness, the responsiveness, the quietness, the shifting perfection, etc.
