Simultaneously sloppy and stunning on Skyline this morning.
Big pics will look good on a phone, but zooooom out if using a desktop.   This is why we shave our legs. Imagine how awful this pic would be with hair in it.   What a beautiful place for a nature break!

Glorious day in NJ but we badly need rain. The 2nd photo is a gravel road that connects two back roads that would be beautiful to use but it's marked "private, road, no trespassing, no thru way". I was on it many years ago, Jackie Onassis had a home there.

One from a ride with my friends John (blood, sinew, bone) and Professor Plump (Reynolds 725, carbon, rubber, Pavo Purple paint). Fort Valley, just outside of the national forest where the trees abruptly end and the endless mountain valley views abruptly begin.

Size 53, I'm 5'11", used to ride a 56 but went down to 54 a few years ago. Running a 120 stem, 40mm Cadex AR bars. Was comfortable on a 110 stem, but the reach became a lot shorter when I went from mechanical Dura Ace to Force AXS + the new bars with a bit of a back sweep, so bumped up to 120.
The entire groupset is new Force (D2) except the shifters and brake calipers which are last-gen Force (D1), since D2 is disc only. Stopping power is ***excellent*** on the HED Ardennes RA rims, this coming from a fella who is a firm believer in the superiority of disc brakes. Clearance is 30mm according to Ritchey. I have Schwalbe Pro One 28's on there now. I ride a lot of high-zoot bikes and even with that frame of reference, the Ritchey is outstanding. Last edited by Baron Blubba; 09-20-2024 at 02:01 PM.

Perfect riding day in NJ to cruise some country roads.
This Seven was an experiment in fit that did not go well. Front end way too tall for me, thought I could make it work, but a few rides have confirmed, I am not comfortable with the fit at all. If anyone is looking for a small bike with quite an upright position, let me know. This one will be moving on. Colors are just starting to change around here. Lovely time of year.

Today was a test ride of the newly built up 90's Waterford Paramount OS. Got over to Huntsville and realized I had forgotten the marathon was today. So today's ride was shorter than planned and not on the route I had wanted to ride. Mainly turned into a cruise ride, taking pictures. Fall colors are kicking in already.
The crazy purple Paramount:  All the scrub oaks up on the ridges are turning orange:  Sunnyfield Farm in Eden:  The water level in this inlet continues to draw down as fall comes in:  I love it when the summer tourist and weekenders go away and the beaches are empty:  More fall color beginning:  Not many boaters out either:  This is the drier part of the valley and in back of those ridges is a whole lot of wilderness:
