Chillin' on the C40 yesterday. And since it was the C40, I stayed out for 40 miles. Cool morning ride with crisp, clean air which was welcome after all the crap smoke we keep getting from California. Temps in the 50-60's the whole ride, perfect! I couldn't tell what those guys in the boat had caught but it looked big in their net. I could hear them being quite excited over it, so it must have been a good catch!

Sorry for the mega sized images. I linked directly from Strava today instead of from Flickr. Hope the pictures are still enjoyable. Here are a few from my little wheeled big adventure today. 70 miles and 7000 feet of climbing on Choncho (aka Soma Rufus), a beautiful day full of one beautiful place after another, riding with a recent cycling best bud, Jose. (Poser picture, this is from a pee stop at an AT trailhead in Shenandoah National Park. I would never have the guts to ride this on this bike...or probably any bike!)  Lots of limbs in this one. Dig that purple and orange. I'm really enjoying this 5mm thick Wolftooth Supple Bar Tape. The texture feels nice, and it's pleasantly squishy. Probably wouldn't put it on a road bike, but would use again for sure on a gravel bike or just for fun bike.  At the moment I think nature is occupying the same space as the woman running in the background.  The Three Little Pigs, after they all wised up and built with bricks? There is a fantastic painting here, if the scene is portrayed from a nearer and slightly more oblique angle. Anyway, these little houses on this stunningly bucolic road always intrigue me.  Just when you thought it couldn't get any cuter, it goes and gets a straw hat.  What it's all about, what dreams are made of.

Exploring the Que
In around the Quemahoning Dam and Reservoir on the other side of the ridge from Hooversville. The little hollows in and around the Stonycreek River here in the central Alleghenies continue to surprise and amaze!

Been riding a lot lately, so today I went out for a very short ride and obeyed the school zone speed limit the whole time. Nice and quiet Sunday morning in the Shenandoah Valley. After riding the mountains for the last few days, it was nice -and relaxing!- to be able to see them from the bottom up instead of from the top down.

The nom-school zone pics were taken between Front Royal and Fort Valley. One on Wakeman’s Mill Road and the other on a little neighborhood road off 619/Rivermont. River Drive South, I think is the name.

Amazing how much more pleasant is to ride when it's cool
 My Serotta Ottrot came to me via a friend who can no longer ride, he ordered it without any frame decals so it goes without notice to mostly everyone. A few people do recognize the frame details or the headbadge.The car is a 1951 Willys-Overland Jeepster. I was staying in Bolton Landing (Lake George) the last week in September 2 years ago. I hoped to ride Whiteface but the days I could go it was 28F at the top and didn't have the right clothes for that.
