Joy comes in many forms. This Van Dessel is fast, complete different experience than the Ottrot I have been riding alot lately.
Saw a guy riding a beautiful Tommasini, chromo sparkling in the sun.

Merckxman,

I agree. Way back over 30 years ago, we lived in a rural area in north-central PA. Every summer they would do the chip and seal thing on the roads all over the place. It is a hilly area and I was descending one hill that was about 1.25 miles long, and was freshly treated with the oil and chips. When I got to the bottom I had flats front and rear. The oil causes the chips to stick to the tires and eventually cut through. Yikes.

BRP just south of junction with Skyline Dr. Thanks for the encouragement to ride Skyline, absolutely gorgeous Friday afternoon and little to no cars, and those that were up there were super respectful. Great interval work on the hills.

What I coincidence, I was up there today as well. But farther north (Skymass loop from Front Royal), and much earlier, as you can see. Crazy beautiful once in a lifetime (or simply not very often) morning on the mountain. It's like a beach in the sky.

That's stunning. Rather chilly for early September I bet.

Finding myself hitting climbs that I’ve been avoiding for years. Cortisone shot in the hip for arthritis has been a game-changer.
