I wouldn't trust anything either of the Winklevoss twins says in the least, and would gladly let them sink along with SBF / FTX. That doesn't mean that what he's saying isn't at least partially true, but you can be absolutely sure it's 100% self-serving.

It works like that in the movies. In real life, this is all offshore tax haven money. They kill you with lawyers,

The irony of trading crypto and the roller coaster is that it's much more fun in crypto taking the slow ride to the top then the exhilarating ride down

By the dip sell the peak.

That there is a pretty good market to sell a few bridges at inflated prices.

The apocalypse is nigh.

But in the meantime my son and I bought FRC at $30 yesterday morning. He wanted to sell at $40 yesterday afternoon. I said "enjoy the ride."

I'd guess the most likely explanation is that the kind of people who rushed to pull their money out of SVB might be the same kind of people who would be inclined to put some of that money in bitcoin.

I don't think it reflects a broader change in the view on bitcoin, just a bunch of tech/VC types with a load of cash to move moved some of that cash to bitcoin... for now.

From the first sentence of the anonymously published 2009 whitepaper:

“A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution.â€

Who/what can be fully trusted? The answer is different for everyone.
