You can't be serious?

I'm Australian. There's a reason our SAS troops, US marines and now Japanese special forces are stationed in Darwin. There's a reason Pine Gap is getting upgrades. There's a reason we're getting Virginia Class submarines. There's a reason the Japanese are rolling through their biggest military uplift since WW2. There's a reason the Indians have had to beef up their presence on the Sino-Indian border.

Heard of the "nine dash line"? Look it up.

You know, recently, Australian military divers were injured with a Chinese ship fired a sonar blast despite ours signalling that there were divers in the water. Tip of the iceberg.

Have a look at what they are doing to the Philippines amongst other SE Asian countries. Constant encounters with their vessels.

They're picking fights with everyone.

And that's just militarily. There's a raft of economic and social acts across the world you ought to read up on.

Gee whiz.

Or go to Tibet and see what the Chinese have done there

I'm curious as to how you interpret the actions of Chinese hackers. Are the attacks on our critical infrastructure state sponsored or just the actions of random individuals?

Slippery slope? PF is not a slippery slope? I've learned about more must-have parts and bikes and tools and clothing...

Exactly the nine dash lines. I already touched on this earlier. Look it up it is very complicated where you get your news digest heavily determines one’s view on all the territorial disputes between Japan, Taiwan, PI and China.I am very aware of all the military activities around China. All smoke, no action and there will never be any action because China is simply not an aggressor. Not historically nor today. Instead of focusing on potential disputes with China, why not worry about competing with China?

Again, hate China if you like if that’s your World view. Tariffs hurts everyone at the end of day.

We refer to it as Occupied West Taiwan, not China.

Obviously espionage should be condemned immediately However. It is alleged action “linked” to Chinese government but “everything” is apparently linked to Chinese government. This is exactly the kind of lazy click bait we are so used to fall into. Even TikTok is “linked” to Chinese government.

Is anyone surprised any foreign government would try to hack someone else. I am not. We listened to Angela Merkle right? we even listen to our own citizens. During this high tension Sinophobia era I fully expect more hacking between the West and China. I prefer to step back and see the entire geopolitics from a neutral point.

I need to say this:

How easily you make personal attacks -- "you clearly consume one sided media" in a thread where I have not attacked you personally.

Argue with information/logic and make your points. But stop painting me as stupid. You have no idea what I know and what media I consume. This is why I checked out of this discussion but had to come back to say this.

I don't blame you it is just the nature of our media at the moment. You only know half the story. Taiwan has been plagued with PI pirates killing coast guards. At the same time the pro-US progressive party apologizes due to US-PI close-ties. China feels the need to "patrol" and protect what it considers its little brother while not killing anyone or start a war. The disputes over islands between China, Japan, Taiwan, PI and other SE countries are very complicated. There isn't one single baddie as you would like to imagine.

De Nile is not just a river in England

So how does everyone feel about Iran's efforts to bring peace to the Middle East ?

I apologize. Nothing personal since I don't know you and vice versa. Plenty of people attacking me here as if I care. I merely try to make a point across. Like it or not I stand corrected with my POV. Tariffs will backfire.

Why have you not addressed my comment about the Uyghurs in China?

Again, as I tried to say in a manor of words accepted here, sometimes we accept the terrible things that governments (which are made up of people) do, so long as we see the end goal vision that serves us. It's kind of like how we all love Tadej Pogacar because not only is he the best athlete on the planet now but he is also a mensch, yet he works for the sports washing team of UAE.
