I was told by Campy that it fits the 11/12 chain tools.

Ha that’s funny. When that tool was introduced and there was some resistance from the market re spending so much on a chain tool, the folks at Campagnolo (sorry - I simply cannot call it Campy) told me a c-clamp will complete the task with equal aplomb.
ps arrange disorder

If the 11/12spd chain tool works then what’s the new “400” tool for? It also seems odd they would make a new tool if the old one works and a quick link exists. Maybe a typo? Maybe the 11/12 “300” tool is ok for breaking if joining with a quick link but 400 is needed to join with a pin?
I also find it odd they call it ultrashift even though it only does one upshift. Does it upshift when you push the lever or when you release the lever? If on the push, that would explain why they didn’t use powershift branding. Last edited by thirdgenbird; 09-24-2020 at 07:20 PM. |

Campy’s technical docs list UT-CN400 chain tool, which is a new tool. Doesn’t necessarily mean UT-CN300 isn’t compatible with new C-13 chains. TBD, i suppose.
Edit: and what he said ^ |

I haven't taken anything out of the boxes to play with. So I am not sure on the shifting. Plus they don't normally work well not set up on a bike. |

Joking obviously Yeah, without a front derailleur, the multi upshift feels less critical. You still do get multi downshift if you need a quick bail out. |

LOL! In the middle of taking picture of all the anodized spoke nipples I have. Stupid I know. But someone wants to see them to make a decision on them for their wheel build.

I am ready to jump in on Ektar with both feet! Now if only it were available for purchase. I'm epically short on patience for these sorts of things.
