It's odd that there are no XL or XXL frames in stock. Ritchey doesn't get a lot of XXL frames, ever, but they carry XL.

is it just me or do these seem like really long bikes, especially by today's standards of endurance bikes.. what am I missing on these..

The medium has an effective TT of 56cm and reach of 390mm.. does the high stack of 593mm make it fit like a standard 54ish cm bike?

I love the idea and looks behind most Ritchey bikes, but they always seem big when I look at the numbers..

Ritchey bikes tend to have weird geometry more often than not. In your case, you'd fit best on a small, no matter what Ritchey's suggested size range is.

The geometry chart suggests they run large. The medium 390/593 seems more like 56/large of any other brand. My guess is that they are aiming for an endurance fit with a slightly shorter stem. Makes sense if you want to build it as a rando bike with a front bag.

The XXL Ritchey has almost identical frame geometry to my gravel frame- Fairlight Secan 61t.
I appreciate Ritchey finally designing a frame for go fast road and mixed surface that actually fits the leggier crowd.


If you want a frame that's really long- the new Santa Cruz Stigmata is crazy long.

I had a gray Ritchey Road Logic disc in 59cm (610 stack, 409 reach). I think it was the 2020 model. It ran small. I don't know if they have updated that geometry, but it looks the same.

Ultimately, there was a lot of overlap between the Road Logic Disc with my CAAD12. The CAAD12 is a joy to ride. Its a lot of fun and has a lot of pick up. The Ritchey was smooth and stable. I didn't notice it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't like the CAAD12. That said the Ritchey went together with zero issues. I had a niggling issue with the original Cannondale headset -- it always seemed loose. Ironically, I bought a Ritchey headset, and the problem was solved.

If I could get the sense of the CAAD12 in a fatter tired road bike, that would be ideal. I'm skeptical that Ritchey did it with the Montebello, but I'd like to hear what people say after it's out for a little bit.

Do you like your Secan? What are your impressions? I had those on my radar several years ago, but I didn't order one.
