One last attempt to get this thread closed......(kidding, but doesn't everythin that mentions Nazis get shut down?):

Hitler's gold watch set to fetch $4MM+ at auction

Creepy as heck and if I was Jaeger-LeCoultre I would be a little concerned....

I think I'd prefer Paul Newman's Daytona.

Any AD should be able to get you a blue 58 nowadays. Just call the ADs closest to you. I see them in stores regularly.

@Nine, the Black Bay second hand market seems to also be "soft" right now as well. I've been tempted by the OG BB58 lately!

My brother just bought a Blue Black Bay by calling around the AD’s. They don’t seem too hard to find.

Watchuseek and chrono24 are where I casually browse. It looks like the delta between used and new is about $500 (so between $3000 and $3500. I would probably spend the extra $500 and get a brand new piece--although you'll never get the 30 minutes it takes to unwrap the new watch back . Let your fingers do the walking! (I think that's a euphemism for calling around different AD's)

if there is one thing this thread has taught me about Paceline, it's that I'm but a scrub when it comes to income bracket.. at least based on all the watch talk!

Where do people get watches serviced, not manufacturer? My wife has 1960's Patek that needs a stem, not working. Itsy bitsy movement in it.

In Boston/Northeast/Ri would be ideal.
