I was mildly afraid of braking power of these calipers. But so far these are insanely stiff (the housing adds to that, surely). Seems like they have more than adequate stopping power. Which is nice.

I've got a carbon railed Fabric scoop on the way. Will save some weight there.

So far, this has all been practical (and fairly cheap) weight savings done in small pieces, most of it from my spare parts bin - aside from the recent rash of things this week, everything but the BB and belt & cogs has been from my spare parts bin. So, yes it's a weight weenie project, but so far an extremely low budget one.

Also, until I pull off some personal weight weenie transformations, the kind of wheels this bike needs are off-limits.
Essentially everything currently on here is still practical, rideable stuff. Crazy wheels changes that. It'll happen one day, but not yet.

i had a set of 28/32h 3x tune-alpha 340 wheels that weighed around 1250g, i weighed around 180 when i rode/raced them up and down some large mountains. they were solid as a rock. its very easy to build a light set of practical/strong wheels, but yea, definitely not cheap...unless you happened to have access to a group of folks with way too many nice wheelsets...but where to find such a place....

I've got about 20lbs on that on a good day right now. Not currently a good day, or couple months. We'll get there.

I've run the numbers, and I don't mind building up a set myself, I'm somewhat decent at building wheels, and thoroughly enjoy it.

I work at a shop, so that makes all of this on the cheaper side of things, but even still some of the lighter stuff is pricey, even at wholesale. Get some 300g tubular hoops, American Classic Micro 58 hub, and a Tune Mag170 rear, some Sapim CXrays or Pillars, and it's doable, around 1060 or 1100.

To that point, if the price is right I'm highly interested in any or all lightweight wheels that are out there at the right price. So, to anyone following along at home, if you've got wheels that are just screaming to be handed off to a new owner...

Belt Drive SuperSix EVO - Currently 5.98kg

Just did first (sort of) "real" ride on the machine tonight. Fifteen miles as I'm attempting to shake a headcold.

Bike is absolutely insane. Wants to go the instant you jump on it. Hadn't really ridden it much in quite a while, but again it's insane how eerily quiet this thing is when everything is aligned correctly, to the point where if riding behind someone, they wouldn't necessarily be able to know you're there if not for lights. I'd forgotten how much I'd enjoyed this Evo frame, let alone with everything I'd done to it.
