Perfect weather day in the Garden State. Beautiful rolling miles on back roads with low traffic. Much to love.

Ran into a grass lot with about 25 trucks/horse trailers. Maybe a local gravelhorse ride? Do horse people change horseshoes based on expected terrain? Is there an appropriate Vittoria product for a fast gravelhorse? These things were on my mind today.

Yesterday . . .

. . . I led a Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club ride from Pine Lake up and around Piseco Lake in the southern Adirondacks of New York state and it went well, with 17 total club members on board for this 50-mile lollypop route on great roads, through some beautiful scenery without too much steep climbing. This is more of a “local folks” area of the ‘Dacks with lots of family cabins around the multiple lakes that are nestled in the rolling foothills that eventually turn into higher peaks as you head north into the heart of the North Country. It’s far different from the high peaks area and the crowded, touristy flavor north around Lake Placid. The weather was just about perfect, with 68 degrees at our 11am start time morphing into the low 70’s as we rode up and back under fluffy white clouds. We stopped at the Point Comfort state campground on Piseco Lake to get our group photo and refill water bottles before completing our loop around the lake and then heading back south. After the ride some of us completed our day by visiting Nick Stoner’s Inn in Wheelerville on the way home. A great day! 50 miles/16.8mph av/2474 ft vertical. Photos with Panasonic Lumix ZS200D and iPhone 15 Pro. Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/32473352

McKenzie Highway (242) from Sisters, Oregon for the fifth time this year. Traffic not too bad for Labor Day. The new pavement is smooth! Still no shoulder but you can’t have everything.

Did he just happen to have a Kern Pharma kit at the ready, or did he go out and buy one after Castrillo's win(s)?

Hope these attach. Riding close to Marina Del Rey, CA. on TREK I picked up from our very own robt57 with Chisholm wheels. Rides like a dream, got me back in the saddle! Fits perfectly, thanks to Bob. This is a 62cm Domane Classics. Really really nice! (Helmet color is all wrong but I'm working on that.)

Glad to see you rolling it. Nice Jersey too. You were sending me parts while we were @ Worlds in Glasgow. Seems like yesterday to me. Glad I got your fit 1st shot.

Turnaround point of my morning ride. (Yes, I got at least three feet of air off this sweet jump).

The new gravel bike. Fog and mist rolling in low and slow over the WV mountains. In about 45 minutes after this picture was taken, the sun had burned off all the fog and we were treated to a glorious day on the Green Brier River Trail.

Nothing quite like morning in the mountains.
