Another lovely day on the Vineyard. 61 miles around to Lobsterville, West Basin, Menemsha, and Katama, on the Supersix. Life is good!

Thanks, buddy. Love the subtle look. It's an Officine Mattio SL Disc. https://www.officinemattio.com/en/new-sl/

Warm and humid today in TN! Haven’t visibly sweat that much in a long time..at times I was raining on myself. beautiful day though for one of my favorite climbing routes with a fast descent to finish down the foothills parkway by the Smokies.

First short (15 mile) ride since before total hip replacement on March 4th and then 8 rib fractures at 2:30am on April 13th. Could not risk a fall until the ribs were mostly healed. Definitely out of shape despite daily gym workouts. The new Zukas is a super-smooth and comfortable ride.

Rest stop on the Sunday morning MTB ride, we stopped in the amazing stone pavilion designed and built by Lew French at the MV Museum.

Road side Tiger Lilies are in bloom now. Beautiful morning for a ride on a, "Is that steel?!" bike (a Jamie Swan today). There were quite a bit of cyclists out day before the heat dome moves in for all of next week with realfeel temps of 100F +.

The best rides involve the best riding partners. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads on the Forum!

Saturday was a nice 27 miler around the valley on the Moser I picked up here. This bike feels so light and fast and is being held back by me more than anything, LOL!

Father's Day ride did not go as planned. Got the Pacenti ready to go but as I started out I heard a ticking noise that I could not find. Hopefully only something like a valley stem. But to be safe I took it back in and grabbed the C40. The ol' Colnago never fails to deliver. Hay cutting time so the back roads smelled great.

And the 90 degree turn in the picture below is where I made a mistake about two years ago going somewhere in the mid 20 mph range on the David Kirk build Fishlips bike. Hardest pedal strike of my life with the rear jumping out to what felt like at least a foot to the side. I just knew I was going down. But nope, that beauty of a bike just gathered itself up and pulled me upright, whew!

More from today:

Back home at my favorite "ride recover point".

Right at 30 miles on a cool and calm Sunday morning.

Another lovely day riding near the Smokies in the low 70s and sunny. Today went shorter up one of my favorite climbs, Butterfly Gap, to the foothills parkway near lookout tower. Photos are start of the climb, up top on the foothills parkway looking towards the Smokies NP, and the secret mossy runoff that takes you off the foothills to the river rd to return home. No traffic as usual!
