Caledonia to Caledonia

When I found this little community on the map within a century ride from home, I knew I had to do it. Had to tread some dirt and gravel roads to get there, but the bike handled it without issue.

Saturday's ride had a nice surprise: one of the 5 blimps operating in the U.S. Dick's House of Sport blimp stretches 178 feet in length, towers 55 feet above the ground, and has a width of 46 feet. The volume is 170,000 cubic feet of helium, and has two Lycoming engines to propel it. It had come in overnight to Solberg Airport from New England.

Palos Verdes off road

With the marine layer staying around most of the time, it’s still green and blooming

Modjeska Grade Rd. out in Silverado Canyon, in OC, CA. It hurt. The lizards were scurrying along faster than I was going uphill....

Fun but exhausting weekend . . .

. . . with the Dirtphalt crew in Michaux State Forest and surroundings near Chambersburg, PA. It's home turf for PaMTBRider and he and Mrs. Pa pounded me like a nail with rides of 23, 34, and 27 miles, including one 6.4 mile climb and a 5 mile descent. Plus the usual post-ride refreshments! The group included PaMTBRider, his lovely partner, plus AngryScientist and CNYRider.

Well done guys, nice to see Paceline members enjoying each other's company beyond the Classified's section.

Martha's Vineyard Pride Parade on a perfect day Saturday. I took the long way to Oak Bluffs via Katama so got 35 miles in on the Bob Jackson for the day. Gotta love alpacas and drag queens

Warren County NJ riding

I have been a little lazy in getting into Warren County on rides, it's the most rural County in NJ. Beautiful and quiet.

Visiting eastern TN for the summer. Wednesdays the gravel road into cades cove is closed to traffic so I rode to the summit before descending to the cove. Saw a big bear on the return…
