Thanks — what struck me about that scene was how almost indistinguishable it was from a view of the coastline and the Pacific Ocean. E.g., the shot below it in this thread of the Marin coastline.

33 miles out today on the 42 year old Krapf and loving it. The bike was the star of the day. Good weather except for the wind. Had to really work the final 12 miles to get back against a strong headwind. Somehow managed it though on old steel, with friction DT shifting and only 6 cogs in the rear, LOL!

yeah. I was surprised too - but the temperature has not yet crossed 80. only needed one bottle of water up Sierra.
