Before hitting the golf course

Rode the network of dirt, gravel, rocky roads that many estates are on and which the residents have no interest in getting paved....thankfully!

Wow, beautiful views! There are definitely days where I wish I was in the middle of nowhere.

I seriously would like to ride there with you at some point. The area north of Kernville is an undiscovered gem.

Dirt roads in the Northeast are fantastic.

Mine Mountain Road in Fort Valley, VA. If you can't get enough of pavement, traffic, people, and noise, you'll really hate this. Personally, I think it's okay.

One day when I'm in NJ (pretty often in the warm seasons) and can afford to take a day off of work, will you take me for a ride? This stuff looks awesome.

I can probably shed light on why they're underused? Dickheads. Dickheads everywhere in lifted 7L diesel RAM 2500s driving like lunatics. There aren't many roads, the road surfaces that do exist are pretty whack, and its steep as all heck.

I've only been living out here since early December and most of the good roads were snowed out, so I'm only just getting my bearings. I drove to the base of this climb yesterday as its otherwise 20+ miles of chip seal nastiness to get there. With that said - I cannot wait to find my spring legs and get further into the forest to see what's what.

... day before Spring in the northland.

Very windy (bike fell over immediately after pic) but not frigid.

I love it when “photos from your rides” doubles as the “places I didn’t know I wanted to go” thread.
