Great one today, 40 plus on my pre Bday ride. Light was amazing, as were temps. wind a bit stronger than one would like, but eh, can't have it all. Really dreamy stuff

If anyone spots this scenario, with the Palm Springs "Rooter" prop van in a movie or show, let me know what it is. I left out the caravan of production trailers to the left of the scene.
And below, here comes the rain!

Last Thursday I rode Cayuse & Chinook Pass, and halfway up to the Sunrise visitor center at Mt. Rainier. I ran out of time, so I ended up cutting the ride short. Still a great day in the mountains.

Rode past this for the first time, on one of my favorite local climbs today...

Very sad.

I've noted a massive uptick in motorcycle gang activity in the area, lately. I hope some "club" hasn't decided to open a chapter here or something. Not saying it's related, but we also don't get too many young women from Portland's dead bodies callously tossed off cliffs here in God's country either.

Did the New England Randonneur's 200K Fall Classic Brevet this past Saturday. Great weather, great controls, great people. My first brevet, and I gotta say I'm hooked. looking forward to the VT 200K and VT 300K next May and June.

Shermans was an old amusement park in Caroga lake. It was at its height in the 1960's. There is a pavilion that used to be for bumper cars, a huge carousel and a large bar, restaurant and lodge there as well. Did a lot of work up there to keep the place up when it was owned by a local lawyer. The taxes went through the roof and there was no viable market for the place so now it sits getting more dilapidated as the years pass. It is owned by the village now along with the 100 acre campsite across the road. Very cool spot that's been for sale now for ages
