Here're a few from yesterday's ride with my friend Mike. Small chance of rain turned into a freezing downpour at the halfway point, when 9 out of the remaining 11 miles were pure downhill. It's been moist here lately, and the waterfalls are in full bloom like they haven't been in 2-3 years. Purple bike is mine. The Revolt is Other Mike's.

Meanwhile, today was something completely different. Roads were nice and dry, temps in the 40's, very windy, stunningly bright and vivid and clear. Everyone here has been really upping the picture game lately, so to keep up I trundled off to Shenandoah River State Park for this shot at Culler's Overlook, because even Mr Magoo could take a stunning picture at Culler's Overlook.

We saw some sun here for the first time in a week. Rain and mist, fog and mist... so our snow is trashed but at least the roads are de-salted.

35 degrees F and a brisk wind... but hey, the sun is out!

That’s quite a fetching All-City. They are a frequent temptation. How do you like it?

Very pleased with it. Amazing detail work everywhere you look on the frameset, and beautifully finished. Handles/rides as well as it looks. A bit more road oriented geometry than some of its competitors and you have to love the (almost) level top tube.

Zips along well enough (especially with 42 mm tires) that I find myself taking it out for road only rides.

Kind of surprised that QBP decided to dead-end the brand.

It's awesome and it's very different from my other bikes.

Sales rep calls me, "Hey, I saw your new bike at the shop."
"How did you know it was mine?"
"Purple bar tape."

I might be predictable, but I know what makes me happy.

A couple of damp chilly hours today on the Supersix. These shots are from Katama, on the south coast of MV. Got hammered in the last storm. The piles of sand are to rebuild the beach!

This bike is more and more fun every day. Feels like a long-term keeper. Upgrades on the horizon!

Michael,
I don't know if you have been on Ashby Station road, south of Shephens City, but there is a double track crossing there that is a nightmare if you catch it right (or wrong). It's the only double track on the line and so if two trains are approaching each other, one has to stop at that point to let the other by. We have been caught for long stretches of time when one train stops, blocking the road, and waits for the oncoming train to pass. We always cross our fingers for good luck when doing that route. Here's a pic of one train passing another at that point.
