Tyler Rand to Tower in Sunol
Tyler Ranch to Tower via Sunol Ridge Trail - brutal climb.... but amazing panaromic views of Sunol, Mission Peak, Peninsula, SF and Mt. Tam. highly recommended. would be better with mountain bike. With the gravel bike, i had to hike at two places, but worth it.

Pretty horses
We had snow in the higher elevation on December 7th and roads were salted :-( Headed down to Oldwick area the following day where there was no snow and roads still perfect.
It was strange, by the end of the 7th I hadn't heard any mention on the news of the attack on Pearl Harbor. |

We had a nice warm up yesterday, so I decided to get the Mosaic out one last time before the eventual snow flies again. The roads had some sand left, but they do not use salt, so I headed north to go hit some dirt and grave.
I had a couple of friends meet me at the dirt and spent a few hours riding on seasonal Adirondack roads. There were some messy spots, but overall pretty good riding for December! Sent from my Pixel 6a using Tapatalk |

I'm still healing from the knee recovery and it was 9 degrees out yesterday with icy roads. Just a few from around the block. Supposed to get back into the 40's tomorrow and stay that way for a week so the roads should clear to allow me to get in more short rides.

Not recent, but from this year. Switzerland, with some perfect weather and amazing climbs.

What is the rear hub on the bike in the second photo?

Looks like one of those old Shimano drum brake hubs that were used a lot on tandems back when.

Hub motor?

Bingo! My wife rented a Wilier Cento 1 Hybrid ebike that had the motor in the rear hub. Fantastic bike. She loved it. Handled really well, disc brakes were great on superlong downhills, and on the lowest setting, she could chat along while keeping up with me on the climbs, panting for all I was worth. She'd casually say, 'I'm going to stop and take a photo - I'll catch up.' She loved that.
All of those photos were taken by our one support person from Grand Tours Project. We basically did their Swiss Iconic Passes Getaway tour, on different dates than what they offer online. Last edited by tv_vt; 12-10-2023 at 03:37 PM. |

I have heard similar stories. Seems like electric bikes have broadened cycling enjoyment with a non cycling spouse which is a good thing.

38 degrees and wet but no snow. Yet. It's just a matter of time.

Rolling the fatty
Not going anywhere fast but lots of fun when there isn't enough snow for skiing.
