So I got me a Pegoretti Palosanto WHOOOOO HOOOOO! So stoked, never had a nice bike like this! A thousand thank yous to the generous Paceliner who hooked it up! Built it up a few days ago and it was staring at me day and night while it was raining for the past few days.



It was a typical muggy New England summer day in September. Still ride I must. I rode the roads for a bit, then I felt the urge to venture of into the woods on a mild trail I like.

Just back from the buffalo classic epic in Boulder. We had a group of forty, and met with many other groups for a great ride in the mountains.

So many firsts on this trip....first time to ride in Colorado, first real mountains to climb, first time to meet our padre peter the old spudster in person, first time to peruse his most awesome former shop vecchio's. I was so worried when I sprained my ankle last week, three days prior to leaving for the trip, but except for pain on clipping in and out, it did ok and and I was able to complete a 40+mile warm up ride, and complete the epic which ended up being 117 miles.

Great ride yesterday in and around, up and down through the Camas/Washougal Washington area. Found a great road that went on forever and then became gravel at this bridge. Really good ride but had to deal with some serious white-knuckle high speed downhills due to strong winds blowing through the Columbia Gorge.

That would be Washougal River Road. Locals aren't real crazy about cyclists but it's a great ride nonetheless.

I agree. Been out there a few times and always asked myself why I ever left Oregon.

Having said that, planning for an early AM fall ride out there one of these days...

Never a problem with drivers out that way during weekly rides. Had a couple locals actually tell us to be careful as portions of the road were narrow with blind curves but always pretty friendly, pass with plenty of clearance etc. Folks at the "country store" are great as well.

Now, riding out that way on weekends, especially warm "swimming hole" days is a different story altogether.

Heck yeah! Now that a real trail worthy Pegoretti

I have been putting some more miles on it with a stiffer wheelset and 23mm tires, they dont match but so much better, really coming to life now. Weighing in at about 17.5lbs, lightest steel bike I have ever ridden.
